Terms of Use

PathologiQ by SAVN  ·  Effective date: October 19, 2026  ·  Last updated: October 21, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the PathologiQ application for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, together with its associated websites, features, and services (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is provided by PathologiQ by SAVN (“PathologiQ,” “SAVN,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Service.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information. Our Community Guidelines govern conduct within Leexa and other community features. Both documents are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Privacy Policy: https://pathologiq.com/privacy/
Community Guidelines: https://pathologiq.com/community/

1. Medical and Educational Disclaimer

PathologiQ is an educational and medical-reference platform intended to support learning, professional development, and access to medical information. It is designed for healthcare professionals, medical and nursing students, educators, and other permitted users.

The Service is not a healthcare provider and does not provide individualized medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency assistance. It is not a substitute for professional clinical judgment, direct patient assessment, applicable standards of care, or current clinical guidelines.

Medical content available through the Service may include information about diseases, medications, clinical findings, investigations, differential diagnoses, treatment approaches, and other healthcare topics. Content may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or unsuitable for a particular clinical situation.

Some content is generated, summarized, organized, or assisted by artificial intelligence. Unless expressly stated otherwise, you should not assume that every item or AI-generated response has been independently reviewed by a qualified healthcare professional.

References and citations are provided to help users locate and evaluate supporting information. A citation does not guarantee that a source supports every statement made, that a linked page remains available, or that the information reflects the latest evidence.

You are responsible for independently verifying information before relying on it. Healthcare professionals remain responsible for their own clinical decisions, compliance with applicable laws and professional obligations, and adherence to relevant institutional protocols.

Do not enter protected health information, identifiable patient information, or confidential clinical records into the Service. Patient information must not be uploaded to Leexa, included in Ask Patho prompts, or shared through any other feature, even if the information is intended for educational discussion.

If you believe you have accidentally submitted identifiable patient information, stop sharing it and contact us promptly so we can assess the appropriate response.

The Service must not be used to manage a medical emergency. In an emergency, contact local emergency services or seek appropriate emergency medical care.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

You agree to provide accurate information when creating or maintaining your account and to update it when necessary.

You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for activity conducted through your account, except to the extent an incident results from circumstances for which you are not legally responsible.

You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. You may not sell, transfer, rent, or otherwise provide your account to another person without our authorization.

We may require reasonable verification measures to protect accounts, prevent abuse, and maintain the security of the Service.

3. License to Use the Service

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to access and use the Service for lawful educational and professional purposes.

This license does not transfer ownership of the Service or any intellectual property to you.

Except as permitted by applicable law, an express license, or our written authorization, you may not:

All rights not expressly granted under these Terms are reserved by their respective owners.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service lawfully and in accordance with these Terms.

You must not:

  1. Use the Service as the sole basis for a clinical diagnosis, treatment decision, or other decision affecting patient care.
  2. Submit identifiable patient information, confidential medical records, or information that you are not authorized to disclose.
  3. Use the Service to harass, threaten, defraud, impersonate, exploit, or harm another person.
  4. Upload malicious code, interfere with the operation of the Service, or attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
  5. Circumvent access controls, subscription limits, or other technical restrictions.
  6. Infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other legal rights.
  7. Use the Service for unlawful purposes, including unlawful discrimination or unauthorized surveillance.
  8. Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, professional credentials, institutional affiliation, or authority.
  9. Use the Service to distribute spam, deceptive promotions, or other prohibited material.
  10. Encourage or assist others in violating these Terms.

We may investigate suspected violations and take proportionate action, including removing content, restricting features, suspending accounts, or terminating access, subject to applicable law.

5. Intellectual Property and Medical Content

The Service's software, interface, design, branding, original materials, and other content created or owned by PathologiQ by SAVN are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

PathologiQ does not claim ownership of third-party materials merely because they are referenced, linked, or displayed through the Service.

Medical facts and general scientific knowledge may be used in accordance with applicable law. However, source articles, editorial text, illustrations, photographs, databases, and other materials may be protected by copyright, contractual restrictions, or other rights.

The inclusion of a citation does not itself grant permission to reproduce, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit the cited material. Third-party content remains subject to its applicable license and the rights of its owner.

You may use the Service's educational content for permitted personal study and professional reference. You may not reproduce or redistribute substantial portions of protected content without appropriate authorization.

If you believe that material available through the Service infringes your intellectual property rights, contact us at pathologiq@gmail.com with the subject line “Copyright Notice.” Include sufficient information to identify the material, explain the rights you claim, and provide your contact information. We may request additional information before taking action.

Nothing in this section limits rights or exceptions available under applicable intellectual property law.

6. Ask Patho and Artificial Intelligence

Ask Patho provides AI-assisted responses to questions about medical and educational topics. Depending on the feature and its implementation, responses may use information available through PathologiQ's content and references and may be processed by third-party AI providers.

AI-generated responses are probabilistic and may contain factual errors, fabricated information, unsupported conclusions, incomplete explanations, inaccurate citations, or outdated recommendations.

You acknowledge that:

You must not submit patient-identifying information, confidential patient records, or other sensitive information that you are not authorized to disclose.

Your prompts and related information may be transmitted to third-party AI providers to generate responses. The categories of information transmitted, applicable providers, purposes of processing, retention practices, and other relevant privacy details are described in our Privacy Policy.

AI providers may change as the Service evolves. We will update applicable disclosures when required and handle information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

We may impose reasonable usage limits, modify AI functionality, or temporarily suspend access to AI features to protect the Service, comply with legal requirements, or address technical or security issues.

7. Leexa and User-Generated Content

Leexa is a community feature intended to help healthcare professionals, students, educators, and other eligible users connect, share educational information, and participate in discussions.

Users may submit posts, comments, profile information, images, messages, and other material through Leexa. Such material is referred to as “User Content.”

7.1 Ownership of User Content

You retain ownership of the User Content you create, to the extent you own it under applicable law.

By submitting User Content, you grant PathologiQ a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and technically process that content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, secure, moderate, and provide the Service and its community features.

This license is limited to those purposes and does not transfer ownership of your content to PathologiQ.

The license ends when you delete the relevant content or your account, except to the extent that continued processing or retention is reasonably necessary for legal compliance, security, dispute resolution, enforcement of these Terms, or other lawful purposes described in our Privacy Policy.

Copies retained in backups may remain for a limited period under our applicable retention practices. Content already shared or copied by other users may not be recoverable from those users' independent records or devices.

7.2 Your Responsibilities

You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to submit your User Content and to grant the license described above.

You are responsible for your submissions and must not upload content that violates another person's rights or applicable law.

You must never post identifiable patient information, including names, faces, medical-record identifiers, contact information, dates, locations, images, or combinations of case details that could reasonably identify a patient.

Removing a patient's name alone may not adequately de-identify clinical information. Do not assume that a case is safe to share merely because direct identifiers have been removed.

7.3 Prohibited Content and Conduct

You must not post, send, or distribute through Leexa:

Good-faith scientific discussion, reasonable disagreement, and legitimate educational debate are permitted when conducted respectfully and in accordance with these rules.

7.4 Reporting, Blocking, and Moderation

PathologiQ may use automated tools and human review to identify potentially objectionable content, investigate reports, enforce these Terms, and protect users.

Automated filtering may produce errors. Users may report posts, comments, stories, messages, profiles, or members through the reporting tools made available in the Service. Users may also block other members where the relevant functionality is available.

We aim to review reports promptly and, where practicable, within 24 hours of receipt. This is a service objective, not a guarantee that every report will be resolved within that period. Urgent safety concerns and potential disclosures of identifiable patient information may receive priority.

We may temporarily restrict content or accounts while investigating a report where reasonably necessary to protect users, preserve evidence, or prevent further harm. Multiple reports may inform a review but do not automatically establish that content violates these Terms.

Where appropriate, we may remove content, issue warnings, limit features, suspend accounts, or permanently terminate accounts. Serious violations may result in immediate action without prior notice where permitted by law.

We may retain relevant information for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or enforcement purposes as described in our Privacy Policy.

7.5 Appeals

If you believe that content was incorrectly removed or your account was incorrectly restricted, you may contact pathologiq@gmail.com with the subject line “Moderation Appeal.”

Include your account details, the action you are appealing, and a concise explanation of why you believe it was incorrect. We will review appeals in a reasonable manner, subject to available information and applicable law.

7.6 No Endorsement of User Content

User Content reflects the views of its authors and not necessarily those of PathologiQ.

We do not endorse user submissions merely because they are accessible through the Service. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for user statements, independent user conduct, or third-party content solely because it appears on the platform. Nothing in these Terms excludes responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded.

8. Account Suspension, Termination, and Deletion

You may stop using the Service at any time.

You may initiate account deletion through the account-deletion option in your PathologiQ profile or account settings, where available. We will process deletion requests in accordance with applicable law and our Privacy Policy.

Account deletion is intended to remove your account and associated personal information that we are not legally required or otherwise lawfully permitted to retain.

Depending on the information involved, we may retain limited records where reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, enforce these Terms, or protect the security of the Service. Backup copies may persist for a limited period under our retention practices.

Where deletion cannot be completed immediately, we will communicate relevant information about the process and expected timing as appropriate.

Deleting your PathologiQ account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription. You must manage or cancel that subscription through your Apple account. We will provide appropriate information about this distinction during the deletion process.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially violate these Terms, create a security or legal risk, engage in serious abuse, or otherwise provide a lawful basis for such action. Where appropriate, we may provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue. We may act immediately where necessary to address serious risks or comply with law.

You may appeal a suspension or termination using the contact details in Section 19.

Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply, including applicable provisions concerning intellectual property, User Content, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, disputes, and accrued obligations.

9. Subscriptions, Billing, and Payments

PathologiQ may offer a free plan and paid subscription plans, including Pro and Max. Features, usage limits, availability, and prices may differ by plan.

9.1 Purchases Through Apple

Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store are billed by Apple and are subject to Apple's applicable payment and subscription terms.

Before purchasing, you will be shown the applicable plan, price, billing period, and other material subscription details through the purchase interface.

Your purchase authorizes the applicable recurring charges for an automatically renewing subscription unless and until the subscription is canceled according to Apple's procedures.

9.2 Automatic Renewal

Unless canceled, an automatically renewing subscription renews at the end of its current billing period at the price and billing interval disclosed at purchase, subject to any applicable price-change notice or consent requirements.

To avoid renewal, cancel through your Apple account's subscription settings sufficiently before the renewal date to allow Apple's cancellation process to take effect. Apple's applicable billing and cancellation rules govern the timing of cancellation.

You can manage your subscriptions here: https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions/

9.3 Free Trials and Promotional Offers

If a free trial or promotional offer is available, the applicable duration, eligibility requirements, conversion price, and billing terms will be disclosed before you subscribe.

Unless canceled in accordance with the disclosed terms, a trial or promotional subscription may automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the offer period.

Any unused portion of a free trial may be forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where permitted by the applicable offer terms.

9.4 Cancellation and Refunds

Canceling a subscription generally prevents future renewal but does not necessarily provide a refund for the current billing period or restore amounts already paid.

Refund requests for purchases made through Apple are handled under Apple's applicable refund procedures and policies. You may submit a request through Apple's official support process: https://support.apple.com/118223

Eligibility for a refund is determined under the applicable policies and laws. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory refund rights available under applicable law.

9.5 Subscription Changes

We may change subscription features, usage limits, and pricing in accordance with applicable law and Apple's requirements. Where notice or consent is required, we will provide it through the applicable channel before the change takes effect.

Any material change will be handled in accordance with applicable subscription rules and consumer-protection requirements.

9.6 Account Deletion and Billing

Deleting your PathologiQ account does not, by itself, cancel an active subscription purchased through Apple. Before or during account deletion, review your subscription status and cancel through Apple's subscription settings if you do not want future renewal charges.

10. Third-Party Services and External Links

The Service may rely on third-party products and services, including hosting, databases, authentication, AI processing, analytics, crash reporting, payment processing, and external reference websites.

The Service may also link to third-party articles, medical references, publications, and other external resources.

Third-party services operate under their own terms, policies, and availability conditions. We do not control every aspect of those services and cannot guarantee the accuracy, security, availability, or continued operation of external websites.

A link to an external source does not imply endorsement by PathologiQ or by the source's publisher of every statement made in the Service.

Our use of third-party services and the information shared with those services are subject to our Privacy Policy and applicable law. This section does not excuse PathologiQ from obligations that apply to its own conduct or representations.

11. Privacy and Information Security

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes our information practices, including collection, use, disclosure, retention, and deletion of personal information.

We implement and maintain appropriate safeguards for information under our control, taking into account the nature of the information, the risks involved, and applicable legal requirements.

No internet-connected system or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security or that unauthorized access, service interruptions, or data loss will never occur.

If a security incident occurs, we will assess and respond to it in accordance with applicable legal requirements, including any applicable notification obligations.

Users must not submit identifiable patient information or confidential clinical records. This restriction does not eliminate any legal obligations that may apply to PathologiQ in connection with information it collects or processes.

12. Disclaimers of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”

PATHOLOGIQ BY SAVN DISCLAIMS WARRANTIES THAT MAY LAWFULLY BE DISCLAIMED, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, COMPLETELY SECURE, OR ALWAYS AVAILABLE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT MEDICAL CONTENT, CITATIONS, EXTERNAL LINKS, OR AI-GENERATED RESPONSES WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, CURRENT, OR SUITABLE FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

YOU ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE AND FOR INDEPENDENTLY VERIFYING INFORMATION BEFORE RELYING ON IT.

NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS A WARRANTY, RIGHT, OR LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PATHOLOGIQ BY SAVN AND ITS OWNERS, AFFILIATES, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR LOSSES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON MEDICAL CONTENT OR AI-GENERATED RESPONSES, INCLUDING CLINICAL DECISIONS MADE WITHOUT INDEPENDENT VERIFICATION.

THESE LIMITATIONS APPLY TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW AND DO NOT EXCLUDE LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED, INCLUDING ANY LIABILITY THAT APPLICABLE LAW REQUIRES TO REMAIN AVAILABLE TO A USER.

WHERE APPLICABLE LAW PROHIBITS THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF PARTICULAR DAMAGES OR LIABILITIES, THE RELEVANT PROVISION WILL APPLY ONLY TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY THAT LAW.

14. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless PathologiQ by SAVN and its owners, affiliates, and personnel from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, and reasonable costs arising directly from:

  1. Your unlawful User Content or your infringement of another person's rights.
  2. Your material violation of these Terms.
  3. Your unlawful use of the Service or misuse of another user's account.
  4. Your fraudulent or intentionally wrongful conduct in connection with the Service.

This obligation is subject to applicable law and does not require you to indemnify PathologiQ for claims to the extent they result from PathologiQ's own conduct, negligence, willful misconduct, or other liability that cannot legally be shifted to you.

We will provide reasonable notice of a covered claim where practicable and may request reasonable cooperation in its defense. The handling of a claim must not prejudice your rights under applicable law.

15. Apple-Specific Terms

These Terms are between you and PathologiQ by SAVN, not Apple Inc. (“Apple”).

Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content, except to the extent applicable law or Apple's own obligations provide otherwise. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support for the Service unless required by applicable law or a separate agreement.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no responsibility for claims relating to the Service, including product-liability claims, claims that the Service fails to comply with applicable legal or regulatory requirements, consumer-protection claims, or intellectual-property claims.

If the Service fails to conform to an applicable warranty that cannot lawfully be disclaimed, you may notify Apple and seek any remedy available under the applicable terms and law. Any further obligations will be determined by the applicable legal framework.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple may have the right to enforce the applicable provisions against you as a third-party beneficiary.

You represent that you are not located in a country or territory subject to a U.S. government embargo that prohibits use of the Service and are not listed on a U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You agree to comply with applicable export-control and sanctions laws.

Nothing in this section limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

16. Changes to These Terms and the Service

We may revise these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service, applicable law, security practices, or business operations.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date. For material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or another appropriate channel where required or appropriate. Where applicable law requires advance notice or affirmative consent, we will follow those requirements.

The revised Terms will take effect on the stated effective date. Your continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree to revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the Service. Where required by law or applicable subscription terms, we will provide notice or other remedies for material changes affecting paid services.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent another law must apply.

Subject to applicable law, disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and the parties consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

Nothing in this section prevents a user from exercising a non-waivable statutory right, bringing a claim in a forum required by applicable law, or seeking a remedy that cannot lawfully be restricted by this provision.

Before initiating formal proceedings, the parties are encouraged to contact one another in good faith to attempt to resolve the dispute where appropriate. This does not limit any applicable filing deadline or a party's right to seek urgent relief.

18. General Provisions

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and any applicable subscription terms, constitute the agreement governing your use of the Service, subject to any separate written agreement that expressly applies.

Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary or severed, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by law.

No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other right.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent, except where applicable law provides otherwise. We may assign these Terms in connection with a lawful reorganization, merger, acquisition, or transfer of the relevant business, subject to applicable law.

Force majeure. We will not be responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, to the extent permitted by law. This provision does not excuse obligations that cannot lawfully be excused.

No partnership. These Terms do not create a partnership, joint venture, employment relationship, or agency relationship between you and PathologiQ.

Headings. Section headings are provided for convenience and do not affect the interpretation of these Terms.
